I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Education.  Upon graduation, there were no positions  within driving distance as a Business Education Teacher.  Pan Pacific Products was a new industry in Broken Bow at the time, so I applied for a job there and was hired to assist the Network Administrator.  After a year working at Pan Pacific a teaching position opened up at Haworth High School.  After teaching there for one year, I received a call from one of my former teachers at Battiest School asking if I would be interested in the Technology Director position they were about to create.  I accepted that position and worked as the Technology Director/Network Administrator at Battiest for 20 years. 

I have had many students ask me why I would drive from Pickens to Rattan to work.  That is easy, after 20 years of ever evolving technology I was ready for something different.  I hadn’t gotten to do what I actually went to college for but one short year and I was ready for a change!  I LOVE my job and the students at Rattan, I would make that change again and again.  Working with my students is much more gratifying than a computer screen.  Love the smiles, laughs, and stories I get to experience every day!

Richard and I married in 1993.  We have two kids, Maggie and Logan.  Maggie graduated high school in 2018 and is now attending SOSU.  Logan is in high school here at Rattan.

I love taking pictures and creating photo books and scrapbooks. I can spend hours doing this!   I like to travel, although that is something I do not get to do often.  My farthest destinations have been to Atlanta, New York, Chicago, and Pigeon Forge, with Atlanta being my favorite.  Atlanta was my favorite because we stayed at Stone Mountain Park, which is amazing and attended our first Major League Baseball game to watch the Atlanta Braves (our favorite team).  I also like to read, but as a working mom and sports mom, that don’t happen very often either!  My favorite color is blue and my weakness is chocolate!
