I hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful summer break. School is in full swing again, and we are excited about another fantastic year here at Rattan. There are so many new things happening in education. Our staff is constantly receiving and reviewing new curriculum standards and new laws that affect our students on a daily basis. As always the school needs your help in making your child's educational experience the best it can be. We welcome your input and want you to be involved in your child's education.

The curriculum standards and testing standards are becoming increasingly more difficult each and every year. Oklahoma is transitioning from the PASS objectives to the new Common Core Standards. We will continue to test student's based on the PASS objectives but transition to using the Common Core standards adopted by our state legislature. The Common Core testing will become effective school year 2014-2015. This will greatly affect the amount of content each student is required to learn. The standards are much more rigorous than the previous PASS standards. We must continue to challenge our students and prepare them for the future. Every school day of instruction is vital to the success of our students. Please help us stress to your child the importance of their education.

Our goal here at Rattan Schools is to provide the best quality education possible to your child.
