Fixing Windows 10 Privacy and Issues. 

Windows 10 is a terrific operating system and an improvement over all previous editions but privacy may be a concern to many.

Most of the relevant settings can be found in Settings under Settings>Privacy and Settings

Also Update & Security>Windows Update>Advanced Options>Choose How Updates are delivered> Make sure the switch is either off or set to PCs on my local network.  Recheck all your settings after the August update.   

Use the Spybot Tool for increased privacy.


Windows 10 should come with Windows Defender but make sure it is turned on.  Settings>Update & Security>Windows Defender. After the latest update in August 2016, Windows Defender will still scan your computer even if you have another antivirus.  Antivirus Ratings.  In addition to an antivirus a malware scanner is advised. The free version of Malwarebytes is very good but you do have to manually initiate the scan.
